Beveled Glass
I have been hand beveling glass for almost 40 years. I often use bevels in my work.
Beveled glass is ¼” thick clear float glass that has been ground and polished with a facet that refracts the light into prismatic color. The effect is delightful and adds rainbow colors throughout the room. The approach allows plentiful natural light into the room and even vision through the window to the outside. From the outside, the panels still provide visual privacy as the design disrupts the view. This is a great way to eliminate curtains on a window, while controlling sunlight and visual privacy.
I use clear glass, as well as glass with gentle tints of blue, green, bronze and turquoise. I particularly favor beveling glue chip glass or other textured glass, which provide visual heft, while still providing prismatic color.
